How is money handled?

Heartland Church takes stewardship of donated monies very seriously. We disclose all of our financial information and have numerous checks and balances in place. For instance, we have elected officers (Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer) who each handle different aspects of our financial processes without overlapping. The Assistant Treasurer oversees the incoming money (tithes, offerings, donations) and ensures those monies are applied to accounts according to the donator's wishes. The Treasurer oversees the outgoing money (checks written, reports produced, balance sheets balanced). These offices can only be filled by the same person for three years. 

 

In addition, access to our accounts is limited to only those approved by the governing board and our bylaws, and strictly enforced by our financial institutions.
